Cyclist Neil Myers was riding down Gibraltar Road when he was hit by a truck coming around a blind curve. He was helicoptered to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center serving the Central Coast. The Cottage medical team worked nonstop to save his life. He woke up to dozens of broken bones, a punctured lung, head-to-toe lacerations and a massive concussion.

Thanks to Neil’s dogged determination and the expertise and support of the therapists and medical experts at Cottage, Neil learned to walk again. And with that same grit, exactly 20 weeks from the accident, he got on his new bike and climbed Gibraltar once again.
